Dr. Charmaine Johnson is a highly skilled general and cosmetic dentist with a passion for helping people achieve both healthy and beautiful smiles. Her interest in dentistry was sparked by her own positive experience with orthodontics, and she loves using her expertise to transform her patients' lives. The joy she feels when seeing the faces of her patients after placing a beautiful crown or completely transforming their smile is what drives her every day. Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1995, and has been practicing in the United States since 2001. She holds dental licenses in Illinois, Florida, Canada, and South Africa. With a commitment to education, Dr. Johnson has served as the Assistant Director of the General Practice Residency program at the University of Illinois at Chicago and as an adjunct faculty member for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Nova Southeastern University. She is also a published researcher, with her work featured in Dentistry Today and The Journal of the American Dental Association. Dr. Johnson is an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the Organization of Special Care in Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Florida and Illinois Dental Associations. She has also served on the Commission of Dental Accreditation since 2003. Outside of the office, Dr. Johnson enjoys staying active through tennis, aerobics, and Latin American dance. She is also passionate about pottery, flower arranging, and volunteering at the Oak Park Animal Care League and Oak Park Conservatory.
